Introducing Higher Stockbridge Solar Farm

Voltalia are constructing Higher Stockbridge Solar Farm near Longburton, Sherborne in Dorset. The site is approximately 3 miles to the south of Sherborne and 5 miles to the south-east of Yeovil.

Higher Stockbridge Solar Farm was granted planning permission in December 2021 by Dorset Council (application reference. WD/D/19/003181). Documents submitted for the planning application can be viewed on Dorset Online Planning Register.

If you’re a community group or voluntary organisation local to Higher Stockbridge Solar Farm, you can apply now for funding as part of our Community Benefit Fund.

We encourage applications from projects which:

  • Improve the local environment in a sustainable way
  • Promote green spaces for recreation improving health and wellbeing
  • Promote education and employment opportunities in the environment sector.

Early site works have begun at Higher Stockbridge Solar Farm, with construction expected to be completed by Winter 2024.
